Journal of Biomedical Materials Research – Part A

The Society For Biomaterials (SFB) is conducting a search for Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Biomedical Materials Research – Part A (JBMRA).

The Journal is an official journal of the Society For Biomaterials, the Japanese Society for Biomaterials, the Australasian Society for Biomaterials, and the Korean Society for Biomaterials. It is an international, interdisciplinary, English-language publication of original contributions concerning studies of the preparation, performance and evaluation of biomaterials; the chemical, physical, toxicological and mechanical behavior of materials in physiological environments; and the response of blood and tissues to biomaterials.

Applicants for Editor-in-Chief should be experts in biomaterials science on the international stage with a strong record of publication and contribution to knowledge in biomaterials research.  In addition, applicants should have evidence to support excellence in leadership, innovative thinking, program management, and interpersonal skills.  The Editor-in-Chief is responsible to the SFB Publications Committee and the SFB Board of Directors and Council, and is an ex officio member of each of these groups. A stipend and expenses are provided to the Editor-in-Chief by the Publisher.

Applications and nominations will be accepted through July 1, 2020. 

The letter of application should include:

1) Description of editorial and peer review experience

2) Disclosure of any possible conflicting interests

3) Summary of philosophy concerning JBMRA, its editorship, and a vision for the next 5 years.

4) CV
